Process mode results for the BA1 example simulation

Process mode requires steady-state conditions to correctly solve a simulation. Because batch processes are inherently transient and a batch distillation column achieves a steady-state solution only when its condenser is at total reflux, the Process mode results serve only as an initial starting point for the dynamic simulation.
The following figure shows the vapor and liquid compositions at each stage of the batch distillation column at total reflux. We achieve purified methanol at the top of the batch distillation column.

The following figure shows the vapor flow rates, liquid flow rates, and temperature at each stage of the batch distillation column at total reflux.
