Securing Production Management servers

Servers are integral part of the AVEVA™ Production Management application and it is important to protect servers from security threats. The following precautions can help to protect your servers.

Installing IIS and Windows Roles

The IIS service is an integrated feature of the Windows operating system. This service needs to be enabled.

AVEVA™ Production Management uses the IIS service for web-based communications, such as to the web-based client and web-based diagnostic tools.

Required IIS role services

For many role services, it does not matter if they are installed or uninstalled. However, if the following role services are not installed, install them.

Common HTTP Features

  • Static Content (installed by default)

  • Default Document (installed by default)

Application Development

  • ASP.NET

  • .NET Extensibility

  • ISAPI Extensions

  • ISAPI Filters
