Install MES Cloud integration

Before starting the installation

Ensure your machine is properly configured. For more information, see the System requirements and Prerequisite software.

It is recommended that you install the required Microsoft .NET Framework release, version 4.8. To install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8:

Download the install package:

Visit https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/net48.

Download the latest version of the .NET Framework runtime install package.

Unblock the downloaded EXE file:

Right-click on the downloaded file.

Select the Properties shortcut menu. The Properties dialogs opens.

In the General tab security settings, select the Unblock checkbox.

Select OK.

Run the installer:

Double-click on the unblocked EXE file.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Install MES Cloud integration

Install AVEVA Events to CONNECT on a local machine using the install kit downloaded from the AVEVA Customer Portal (https://softwaresupport.aveva.com/).
For detailed instructions on downloading and installing AVEVA Events to CONNECT, refer to the AVEVA Events to CONNECT online help (https://docs.aveva.com).

Locate the installation folder on the MES Cloud integration installation media that has been loaded or copied to the local node.

Run the Setup.exe file in the root directory of the installation folder.

Select OK to close any messages.

If the required version of .NET Framework is not installed, you will be prompted to install it and the MES installation will exit. Install .NET framework, restarting the system if required. After successfully installing .NET Framework, rerun the MES setup file to continue installing MES.

If the required version of .NET Framework is installed, the Setup tool opens and the Welcome to MES Cloud integration Setup message appears.

Select Next.
The End User License Agreement (EULA) appears.

Use the options to read the general EULA. Use the controls to print the agreement or adjust how it is displayed.

Select I have read and accept the terms of the license agreement(s), then select Agree.
The MES Cloud integration Installation wizard displays a list of the available components and products to install.
MES Staging Curation Services — Install the MES Staging Curation Services component which is used to create and configure a secure connection to the MES database, curate data from the MES database, and expose endpoints to return data from the MES database to the cloud.

Select the components and products you want to install on the local node.
Note: The MES Cloud integration installation destination folder cannot be modified. The MES Cloud integration components will be installed in the MES destination folder by default.

Select Next.
If any prerequisite software is missing, it will be identified in a message. Install this software before proceeding.

Select Install.
An installation progress status bar appears.

When the installation is successfully completed, select Configure to open the post-install Configurator.
