CONNECT Synchronization Service allows you to sync Mobile Operator mobile applications data with CONNECT data services and CONNECT visualization.

The CONNECT Synchronization Service is installed using the AVEVA Mobile Operator installation wizard, and the configuration is performed via the Configurator.

Install the CONNECT Synchronization Service

  1. Open the setup.exe file.

The AVEVA Mobile Operator Installation wizard appears. The CONNECT Synchronization Service checkbox is selected by default.

  2. Select Next.

  3. Accept the License agreement.

  4. In the Ready to Install Application window, select Install.

Configure the CONNECT Synchronization Service

To complete the installation process, you must configure the CONNECT Synchronization Service to work with CONNECT data services and CONNECT visualization.

  1. Start the Configurator in one of the following ways:

    • On the final page of the installation wizard, select Configure.

    • From the Start menu, open the Configurator application.

    • Open the Configurator application file from Windows Explorer. The default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ArchestrA\Configurator.exe.

  2. Enter or update the following fields in the Configurator window:

    • Certificate: The CONNECT Synchronization Service uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) standards to ensure secure communication between the client and server using the server certificates.

To configure certificates, select either of the following options:

      • Certificates signed by a Public Certificate Authority (CA)

      • Domain-issued certificates managed by your IT department or certificates signed by a Private Certificate Authority

You need to renew CA-signed and Domain-issued certificates at regular intervals.

    • Max Concurrent Connections: Specify the number of active concurrent connections to the CONNECT Synchronization Service allowed.

For example, '10' entered in this field indicates that only 10 active devices can connect to the CONNECT Synchronization Service at the same time. Any connections that attempt to connect to the Synchronization Service in excess of the limit will display an error message.

    • Port: The port is set to 5800 by default. You may update the field as needed.

    • In the CONNECT Data Service Configuration section,

      • EndPoint: Enter the appropriate CONNECT data services endpoint, depending on your region.

      • Client Id and Client Secret: To retrieve the Client ID and Client Secret, see Add a client-credentials client in CONNECT data services documentation.

    • In the CONNECT Visualization Service Configuration section, enter the appropriate CONNECT visualization endpoint, depending on your region.

  3. Select Configure to complete the installation and configuration process.
