Verify connection from the PLC to PI Connector for EtherNet/IP

Check the data source connection to PI Connector for EtherNet/IP using the RSLogix 5000 configuration tool.

1. Open the RSLogix 5000 application and click Communication > Go Online.

   The Controller Organizer window opens.

2. Double-click the bridge or module.

   The Module Properties window opens, showing the module status.

3. Verify that the module connected successfully to the connector by reviewing the status displayed in the lower left corner.

   Status can have one of the following values:

   • Waiting

     The module is waiting to connect to the connector.

   • Running

     The module is connected and the connector is collecting data.

   • Faulted

     The module failed in its attempt to connect to the connector.

     In the event of a faulted connection, an error code is displayed, indicating the reason for the failure. The connector continues its attempts to connect to the module.

   • Offline

     The module is offline. To set the module to online mode, click Communication > Go Online.

4. To view a list of all assemblies configured for the connector, browse to the Overview page for the connector on the PI Connectors Administration Site page and locate the Data sources for the PI Connector for EtherNet/IP area.

   All assemblies are listed and show a status of either Connected or Disconnected.
