- All PI Powershell cmdlets can be contextually classified as either PI AF Server cmdlets or PI Data Archive cmdlets.
- Each cmdlet is a verb-noun combination. eg. Get-AFServer, Connect-PIDataArchive, Add-PIValue, etc.
- Most cmdlets work with either an AF Server or PI Data Archive instance, which are almost always accepted as pipeline inputs (i.e. output of one cmdlet can serve as an input into another cmdlet).
- These cmdlets allow PI administrators and users simple and extensive coverage over the variety of the data in their PI Systems.
