Learn about 32-bit to 64-bit migration

RDBMSPI is available as both 32-bit and 64-bit installations. Installation files are located in the %PIHOME% directory for 32-bit installations and the %PIHOME64% directory for 64-bit installations.

To use the new 64-bit interface installation and copy the configuration settings from a 32-bit installation, perform the following steps.

  1. Modify the path to the log file and directory with SQL files and copy the individual SQL files to the new directory.

  2. Create the dsn parameter for the 64-bit installation using the 64-bit ODBC administrator.

  3. Configure the NT service to point to the 64-bit interface executable.

    • 64-bit RDBMSPI installation can use either 32-bit or 64-bit buffering.

    • Alternatively, you can unregister and/or uninstall the 32-bit installation.
