Egress data to CONNECT data services

Note: In order to send data from an adapter to an Edge Data Store instance, both products must be installed on the same device. This includes module-to-module scenarios.

Egress data to PI Web API using Basic Authentication

When egressing data to PI Web API using Basic Authentication, the adapter authenticates with PI Web API using the configured user name and password.

Egress data to PI Web API using Negotiate

When egressing data to PI Web API using Negotiate authentication, the account running the adapter (the service account) is sent to PI Web API. No user name or password is specified in the endpoint configuration.

Note: Egressing data to PI Web API using negotiate only works if your adapter is installed on a Windows OS.
