The DMZ Secure Link configuration wizard runs automatically after installation completes. If not running, run the configuration wizard on the system where Secure Link is installed.

  1. Select CONTINUE to proceed through the first page of the wizard.

  2. The Checking Connectivity page checks that DMZ Secure Link can connect to the internet.

    • If the connectivity test fails, provide proxy settings. If a proxy isn't required, check the connection settings on the computer.

    • If the connectivity test is successful, select CONTINUE.

  3. On the Incoming Connections page, select the address and port from which DMZ Secure Link will accept incoming connections. You may also choose to accept all connections from local addresses.

  4. Select CONTINUE.

  5. On the Allowed Products page, select the AVEVA software for which DMZ Secure Link will allow connections. DMZ Secure Link allows connections only to the specific internet resources required by the selected AVEVA software, blocking connections to everything else.

For improved security, de-select the AVEVA products and features not currently used. This removes the internet resources for those specific products from the allowlist. If needing access to these products in the future, run the DMZ Secure Link configuration wizard again.

  6. Select CONTINUE. AVEVA solutions are deployed in multiple geographic regions. You can enable or disable access to specific regions as required to comply with local regulations regarding data security and privacy.

    1. Select Customize Regions to view the available regions for the selected AVEVA solutions.

    2. Select CONTINUE.

    3. The Verifying Access page verifies that DMZ Secure Link can connect to the selected AVEVA solutions. When the check completes, select CONTINUE. If anything fails, select Save Log for use later when troubleshooting with IT.

    4. On the What Next page, proxy setting information is provided. Configure each system that needs access to AVEVA software to use these proxy settings to connect to the internet. If you chose to allow connections on multiple networks on the Incoming Connections page, select each network from the Network list to see its proxy settings.

    5. Once all systems have been configured, select CONTINUE.

  7. The Configuration Complete page is used to verify that systems using DMZ Secure Link can connect successfully. A live log displays, showing the results of any requests made to DMZ Secure Link.

  8. Configuration is complete. Select FINISH to exit.

  9. On the Configure Proxy Settings for Accepted Connection(s) page, proxy setting information is provided. Configure each system on the accepted network to use these proxy settings to connect to the internet. If you choose to allow connections on multiple networks, select each from the Accepted Connection(s) list to see its proxy settings.

  10. Once all systems on the accepted networks have been configured, select CONTINUE to verify the connections.

  11. The Configuration Complete page verifies that systems in the accepted connections are able to connect successfully. Select FINISH to complete the configuration process.

Modify the configuration

  1. To change the existing configuration, or review your proxy information, run DMZ Secure Link.

  2. The Review Proxy Information or Change Configuration page appears.

  3. Select CHANGE CONFIGURATION to launch the configuration wizard, or select EXIT to close DMZ Secure Link without making changes.
