Software Requirements

Ensure the following software requirements are fulfilled, before installing the Gateway:

Note: AVEVA Licensing System (ALS) and Licensing as a Service (LaaS) are no longer needed.

The following software components are compatible with the Gateway:

Notes:

  • * Connections to these databases are only required if they are being used for lookups.

  • ** The 2016 ADE version is officially no longer supported by Microsoft so we recommend the 2021 version which can be installed via the Microsoft 365 Access Runtime if you need to avoid installing Microsoft 365.

  • The Gateway supports:

    • NWD files generated by Autodesk Navisworks version 2012-2024, 2016-2025, and 2026.

    • AutoCAD 3D files:

      • Autodesk DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) and DWG (Drawing File) version AC1032.

        Note: The AC1032 format is used by AutoCAD 2018 through AutoCAD 2025 and remains the current DXF/DWG format version used by Autodesk products.

    • IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) files conforming to schema versions IFC 2x3 or IFC 4.

    • PCF (Piping Component File) files.

    • STEP files .STP, .STEP, .STPZ, .STPX, .STPXZ files (Standard for the Exchange of Product Data also known as ISO 10303 files) conforming to versions AP 203 Ed1 and Ed2, AP 214, AP 242 Ed1, Ed2 and Ed3, including XML.

    • Microstation 3D V8 DGN files V7, V8 XM (aka V8.9),V8i (aka V8.11) (*.dgn files).
