PI Connector for OPC UA recognizes the OPC UA AnalogItemType type definition and interprets it as follows: if an OPC UA dynamic variable has its HasTypeDefinition property set to AnalogItemType, the connector makes sure the corresponding a PI point gets created with its Eng Units attribute set to the value of the OPC UA property named EngineeringUnits.
The first screenshot following shows the relevant OPC UA objects and properties relevant to the mapping of Units of Measure (UOM), and the second screenshot shows the result in PI AF.
Moreover, the Descriptor attribute of a PI point is always populated with the Description property of the corresponding dynamic variable.
