Create default PI points

For users who wish to create default PI points, a .csv file designed to be used by PI Builder to create these PI points is included when installing PI Interface for Ramp-Soak Simulator Data. Use the following procedure to create default PI points:

1. Ensure that you have PI Builder installed. PI Builder is included with the PI Server setup kit or the PI AF Client setup kit.

2. Launch Excel and go to the PI Builder tab.

3. Connect to your Data Archive where you want to create the default PI points.

4. Open the .csv file by navigating to your interface installation location. The default installation location is: ..\Program Files\PIPC\interfaces\Rmp_sk. Your actual installation path maybe different.

5. Examine and make any changes to the content of the Excel worksheet, as desired. For default configuration, no changes are needed.

6. Publish the worksheet by selecting the Publish icon in the Excel ribbon.

7. Verify that the default PI points are created by using a tag search in PI Builder, or any number of other utilities such as PI System Management Tool.
