Configure SMTP authentication

You can configure the SMTP secure server either in the Configurator or in the System Monitor application.

When the Client ID and Client Secret are provided, a Google consent screen is displayed to authorize email sending.

Generate an application password

Google does not support SMTP authentication using the Gmail account password.

1. Go to https://myaccount.google.com/security.

2. Sign in to Google and enable 2-Step Verification.

3. Select App passwords and sign in when prompted.

4. In App, select Mail.

5. In Device, select the device or enter an application name.

6. Select Generate.

   An application password is generated.

   Note: Provide the Gmail email address and the generated application password when configuring SMTP email notifications.
