Welcome to 3DVis Cloud Streaming Service

3DVis Cloud Streaming is a CONNECT service hosted on Azure which provides high-performance 3D visualization capabilities for AVEVA cloud and hybrid solution offerings. When embedded in host applications such as AVEVA Asset Information Management - Advanced, it allows users to view, navigate and interact with complex asset and plant models directly in the browser, without requiring local 3D software or high-end graphics hardware.

3DVis Cloud Streaming consists of two main services, the Converter service and the Render service.

Converter service

The 3DVis Cloud Converter service converts customer source models (.rvm, .zgl) to an internal render format optimised for visualization within the 3DVis hosted 3D viewer app session managed by the Render service. There are limits placed on the allowed size of source files that can be converted (currently 20GB for .rvm and 9GB for .zgl files).

Render service

The 3DVis Render service hosts and streams instances of XR Viewer Apps (XR Engage) running on GPU equipped cloud VMs. When a client requests a 3D model, the Render service allocates the session to a VM, instantiates the 3D viewer, loads the requested model into the viewer, and then streams the entire session to the client host application as an interactive video stream.
