3DVis Cloud Viewer

The 3DVis Cloud Viewer is a 3D visualization interface that enables host applications to interact directly with their asset models.

The Viewer toolbar options are described in the table below:

Backward button on the Viewer toolbar

Navigate through previous camera positions

Forward button on the Viewer toolbar

Forward

Move forward through saved camera positions

Reset button on the Viewer toolbar

Reset

Reset the session to its initial load state

Orbit button on the Viewer toolbar

Orbit

Enter orbit navigation mode:

  • When an item is selected, orbit the selected item

  • When nothing is selected and the cursor is over a model element, orbit around the item under the cursor position

  • When nothing is selected and no model elements are under the cursor, orbit around the center of the model bounding box

Fly button on the Viewer toolbar

Fly

Move forward through the model, with fixed velocity, in the direction of the cursor

Walk button on the Viewer toolbar

Walk

Move forward and backward through the model at a fixed elevation, using the cursor to steer left and right.

Velocity is determined by how far the cursor is dragged up/down the screen

Clip button on the Viewer toolbar

Clip

Isolates the selected element by creating a 6-plane clipping box around it.

To modify the clipping volume, drag the sides of the clipping box

This tool is active only when an item is selected.

When a selected element is clipped, the Hide button is displayed allowing visibility of the clipping box to be toggled on and off

Section button on the Viewer toolbar

Section

Takes a 3-plane slice out of the model.

To change the position of the section, select and drag each plane.

When the Section tool is active, the Hide button is displayed allowing visibility of the section planes to be toggled on and off

Measure button on the Viewer toolbar

Measure

Gives access to the following measurement tools:

  • Measure point-to-point button on the Viewer toolbar Point to Point. Displays the distance between two consecutively placed points in the model

  • Measure path button Path. Displays the distance between a string of consecutively placed points in the model

    To confirm path measurement, you can either:

    • Right-click measurement

    • Double-click on last point

    • Disable the measure tool by selecting the Measure button on main menu

  • Delete button on the Viewer toolbar Delete. Select an existing measure line to remove it from view

  • Measurement units button Units. Toggle between metric (m, cm) and imperial (ft, in) units. Changing units only affects subsequent measurements.

  • Lock. Constrains measure lines to the horizontal plane or the vertical axis

    • Lock button to lock measure lines No lock - Draws measure lines on all the axes

    • Vertical lock button to constrain measure lines to the vertical plane Vertical lock - Draws a measure line only on the vertical axis

    • Horizontal lock button to constrain measure lines to the horizontal plane Horizontal lock - Draws a measure line only on the horizontal axis

  • Delete button to delete all measurements from view Deletes all measurements from view

Hide and Isolate

Controls visibility of objects

  • Hide button to hide all objects Hide. Removes currently selected objects from view

  • Isolate button to isolate selected objects from view Isolate. Removes all elements except currently selected objects from view

  • Show all button to display previously hidden objects Show All. Displays all previously hidden objects

  • Icon to select the parent of the object in a model Select Parent. Displays the parent of the currently selected object

  • Icon to clear all selections in a model Unselect All. Clears all selections in the model

  • Icon to make objects in a model translucent Translucent. Makes objects in a model translucent

Controls display of the model

  • X-Ray: Toggle this option to make the model translucent, increasing the visibility of highlighted objects

  • Shadows: Toggle this option to improve visibility of darker areas

  • Insulation & Ob: Toggle this option for visibility of insulation and obstruction volumes in the model

    This only works with AVEVA E3D models that contain INSU (Insulation) or OBST (Obstruction) elements

Other controls:

Teleport icon Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE) - Drag the icon onto any surface on the 3D model to position the camera at a height of 1.8m above that surface.

The 3D Vis Cloud Viewer toolbar is adaptive, dynamically adjusting its size according to the screen resolution to ensure functionality across all devices.
