The AI Assistant provides AI-powered features and capabilities on the AVEVA Documentation Portal: GPT Q&A, Summarize, and Code explainer.

GPT Q&A

GPT Q&A provides an AI-powered response to your questions about AVEVA products, where each user query prompts a new response. You can initiate the GPT Q&A from the doc portal's search box with any query you enter with a question mark "?". The answers generated by the GPT Q&A include a list of three topic sources. Selecting any one of the sources opens the topic where you can learn more about the relevant subject.

Below is an example conversation if you ask, "What is the installation order of PI Server components?"

Summarize

On topics you'll find the Summarize button next to other metadata icons on the topic page center pane. When you select it, it provides a summary of the current topic with a typing effect. You can use the summary to quickly grasp what the topic is about and make informed decisions.

Note: The summarize button is not presented if the estimated reading time is lower than 2 minutes.

Code explainer / Explain this code

On topics that include a code block of more than 30 characters in length, you can select the Explain this code icon next above the code block to view a popup with an AI-generated code explanation (with a typing effect), which can help you understand the code better.
