Data expressions

Data expressions provide the ability to inject logic into various settings, though it may also be used outside this purpose, for example, to pre-process some SQL.
The expression language is designed to support the following:
-
Text first approach, similar to angular, where {{ … }} may be used to inject dynamic logic into otherwise static text. A default expression would then appear as constant text.
-
Flexibility with IF THEN ELSE, AND OR and BRACKETS () logic.
-
$[variables] as notation in the language, and fail-early if a variable would not be available.
-
@[attributes] as notation in the language since we are generally dealing with objects and associations.
-
/regex/ as notation in the language (to allow early checking), and provide better alternatives.
-
Extension of the language through FunctionProviders. This allows injection of alien concepts such as interrogating an ISM information standard without impacting any other code (since everything is evaluated within an expression function nothing).
-
Dynamic evaluation. This allows a variety of scenarios like putting expressions into ISM.
-
Safe execution, for example no access to a secret like a database connection string or file system.
-
Does not require NULL checks or causes NULL reference exceptions.
