PI AF structure for PI Connector for IEC 61850

You can view the PI Asset Framework elements and attributes for PI Connector for IEC61850 using PI System Explorer. The structure consists of Logical Devices, Logical Nodes and Data Objects (Classes).
Logical Device Asset General

The inventoried IEC61850 Logical Device element is based on the Logical Device element template and is named using the Logical Device name.
An Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) receives data from sensors to issue control commands.
Logical Device Asset Template

The IEC61850 logical device element contains attributes such as IP address, model number, revision number, and vendor.
Logical Device Asset Attributes

Logical Node Asset General

The inventoried IEC61850 logical node element is based on the Logical Node element template and is named using the Logical Node name. Attributes for Logical Nodes are not populated in the current version.
The following section describes the elements and attributes created from a sample simulator for IEC61850:
The EnaCls and EnaOpn elements provide the information whether the switch of the current node is enabled to be closed and opened.
EnaCls (Enable Close) Class Attributes

EnaOpn (Enable Open) Class Attributes

The following Enumeration is used for the Boolean values which can be assigned to stVal of both EnaCls and EnaOpn.
BooleanBitState Enumeration Set

The templates for EnaCls and EnaOpn are similar. The attribute stVal gets its values populated with values from the BooleanBitState enumeration.
EnaCls (Enable Close) Class Asset Template

EnaOpn (Enable Open) Class Asset Template

The NamPlt element provides information about the name of the current node.
NamPlt Class Attributes

The PhyNam element provides information about the name of the physical device.
PhyNam Class Attributes

Pos denotes the position of the switch which can have values from Intermediate, Off, On and BadState.

The following enumeration is for the Originator, which provides values to the origin.orCat (Originator Category).
Originator Enumeration Set

The following enumeration provides the stVal for Pos.
PosStVal (Position stVal) Enumeration Set

The template for Pos is shown in the following image. The origin.orCat attribute has values from the originator enumeration while the stVal attribute has values from the PosStVal .

The following enumeration shows the validity part of the quality bits, which is captured in the q attribute, in all of the elements shown in the previous image.
