Topology 2 is best suited for small to medium sized PI Systems that have an average use of event frames and reside in a plant or on a single-site, LAN-connected environment.
There are two versions of Topology 2 covered in this section. The one you select depends on the number of events your PI System is expected to handle:

Topology 2A is recommended for systems that have up to 5,000 events per second.

Topology 2B is recommended for systems that have between 5,000 and 20,000 events per second.
Topology 2 installations require a three-server, non-high availability deployment.
