Get started with Configurator

The Configurator utility allows you to deploy and configure the various components of System Platform and related products. It launches automatically at the end of the product installation process.

Note: You must have administrative rights to use the Configurator.

The Configurator displays a product tree containing all installed components that require post-installation configuration. It has a set of pages that can be accessed from a directory to the left of the interface.

Configurator behavior

The Configurator interface is dynamic, but this help content provides complete information for all possible components. The Configurator interface adapts to the products installed on your system. Because the guide is comprehensive, you may see information about components not included in your installation. The Configurator will display only the products and plugins that are currently installed on your system.

The following describes the dynamic nature of Configurator behaviors:

• The components shown in the Configurator depend on the products installed and available for configuration.

• Interdependencies among product pages and individual plugins will also affect the state of components in the Configurator.

• Configuring an interdependent plug-in might not automatically change the dependent plug ins. This means that the status indicators - green (valid configuration), blue or yellow (invalid or re-configuration needed) - might not automatically update.

• In some cases, dependent components might automatically update but could still require user interaction with the tree item of the component or plug-in to update the status indicator.
