In AVEVA P&ID, Typicals can be created for a selected Equipment in the Drawing, using the "Typicals" window:

For example, the Equipment "B-01-A" has 3 Typicals added to it. When this drawing is processed by the Gateway as a AVEVA P&ID drawing, the Output EIWM will have additional Objects (B-01-B, B-01-C, B-01-D) created for each typical.
The main Equipment object and all of its Typical objects will get an additional association "is identified by" to an alias object with an ID which follows the syntax: "Main Equipment ID/last Typical ID" (in this case the alias ID would be "B-01-A/B-01-D") and each association should have an additional Context child element derived from each ID (in this case "B-01-A", "B-01-B", "B-01-C" and "B-01-D" ) relative to the Equipment object’s context:

The attributes of the Typical objects will be the same as the main Equipment object, except for the defined Typicals values:

The Handle attribute value of the Typical Objects will be same as the main Equipment object,
but with "#n" appended to it, where the "n" value is incremented per typical:
For B-01-B:
For B-01-C:

For B-01-D:
The Output SVG will have additional VNet IDs added for typical objects like below:

When the Output files are imported into AIM, the user can hover on the Equipment graphic
or on its label and will see that the hotspotted ID is the Target Object ID value
in the association "is identified by" with the syntax: : "Main Equipment ID/last Typical ID" (in this case with ID "B-01-A/B-01-D"):
When user clicks the Label or Graphic in SVG, it will show a popup with a list of
the Equipment and its Typical IDs:
The Content card will also open, showing the related attributes upon clicking any
of the links:
