PI OLEDB Enterprise installation

Before you install PI OLEDB Enterprise

1. Consider the deployment options.

   For more information, see Deployment options.

2. Review and verify the system requirements.

   For more information, see System requirements.

3. Configure Microsoft SQL Server.

Install PI OLEDB Enterprise

PI OLEDB Enterprise consists of a server and a client component:

• PI Asset Framework Server versions 2014 through 2018 SP3 Patch 3 include the server component. Later versions require installation of the PI SQL Data Access Server (RTQP Engine) kit on the server side.

• PI OLEDB Enterprise is a client component that installs the OLE DB provider and PI AF Client Software. It also includes PI SQL Commander Lite, a query development and testing tool.

  Note: The installation must be run from an account that has administrative privileges.

  4. Run the PI OLEDB Enterprise setup kit.

  5. Configure data access.

  6. Validate the PI OLEDB Enterprise installation.
