AVEVA™ Adapter for OPC UA

Install using Edge Management

Edge Management is a cloud-based device management solution that enables remote deployment, configuration, and upgrades of AVEVA adapters. With Edge Management, adapters can be deployed to Windows x64, Linux x64, and ARM64 devices as Linux containers.

Despite Edge Management being a cloud-based solution, it is not required to egress data to the cloud. It can be used to manage adapters egressing data to PI Server, CONNECT data services, or both. Since it is a cloud-based solution, devices need an internet connection to be managed, either directly or through a proxy.

For additional information, see the Get Started section of the Edge Management guide.

This section outlines how to configure your adapter as well as details how to egress data to CONNECT data services or Edge Data Store (EDS) and reviews module reference secrets.

For information on how to monitor and support your adapter using CONNECT data services, see Monitoring using CONNECT data services.

  • Edge Management is an AVEVA CONNECT data service that provides device provisioning and remote installation of AVEVA applications

  • Adapters and EDS can be installed remotely using Edge Management

  • Any adapter framework-based application could use a similar recipe to create an edge module that is interoperable with Edge Management

Manage software deployments at scale with Edge Management
