Subscribing to Event Notifications

You can maintain event types and their subscriptions using the Data selection configuration. You can use data selection to create, read, update, or delete alarm types, condition types and other event types. The adapter must be connected to the Server to subscribe for event notifications.

Subscribing for Alarms and Conditions on the OPC UA Server requires a minimum of one Node ID to be specified. The Node ID represents the node in the address space that is the current root of the event hierarchy to report events to the adapter. The adapter uses the Server node to monitor events for each event type identified by eventTypeNodeId parameter in the Data selection configuration.

The adapter monitors the Server for qualifying events for each of the selected Event Types.

The adapter can restrict event notifications sent by the Server based on the Event Filters configured. The selected eventTypeNodeId parameter is added to the Event Filters of the Subscription. In addition, you can specify the following event filters.

• EventSourceNameFilter

• MinimumEventSeverity and MaximumEventSeverity
