Import and Export Configuration

Import and Export shares configurations and resources between users through a web interface.

Export

Exports .json files compressed in a zip file for backup, restoration or migration purpose. The .json files have the following configurations in order,

• Naming Rules

• Types

• Rulesets

• Scopes

• Name contexts

• Sequence reservations

Select Export to generate the zip file for download to your Download folder:

C:\Users\user.name\Downloads

Save the file as backup or share it with other users or communities.

Import

Displays the Open window to import Naming rules, Types, Rulesets, Scopes, Name contexts and Sequence reservations, in a zip file with a valid configuration. The data can restore a previous state, migrate configurations from other users or communities, share setups between folders.

Folder

Defines the folder which is used to organize and store the zip file.

Filename

Defines the file to import.

File type dropdown

The type of file to be imported, for example, Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Open

Imports the selected configuration set.

Note:
The zip files are free from malicious scripts or malformed data.

If conflicts are detected, import will skip the items and continue the processing. A summary dialog displays the skipped items.

Dependent entity relationships are respected during import.
