Configure default server configuration

Default server settings apply to all servers that do not have explicit values.

Note: If you have completed the procedure detailed in Configure global settings, the Queue path and Authentication options will already be set. You may want to skip this procedure and select the Show advanced default server configuration link to display advanced options, then refer to Set advanced default server configuration.

1. Queue path: Set the location where buffered files will be temporarily stored should a server become unavailable. A typical path would be C:\ProgramData\OSIsoft\Buffering. Select Browse... to navigate to the file location where you wish to temporarily store buffered files.

2. Authentication options: From the drop-down menu, select Windows authentication, PI trust, or Any. Any is the default option.

3. Determine if you want to set additional server configuration options.

   • If you do, select the Show advanced default server configuration link to display advanced options. Refer to Set advanced default server configuration.

4. Select Save.
