Use the settings in the Service Configuration pane, on the right side of the Service page, to configure the interface to run as a service.

PI ICU uses two buffering services, which are selected from the Installed services list:

• PI Buffer Subsystem (PIBufss)

  PI Buffer Subsystem is designed primarily to enhance the high availability (HA) features of the PI Server. PI Buffer Subsystem buffers data only to one non-replicated PI Server or one PI collective (with its various member nodes).

• API Buffer Server (bufserv)

  If you send buffered data to PI Server version 3.4.370 or earlier, or if your interfaces run on a non-Windows platform, you need to use bufserv, which has most of the same capabilities of PIBufss.
