I/O Timeout

  • Last UpdatedFeb 13, 2023
  • 1 minute read

If the status of a point is I/O Timeout, check the following.

  • Is the SNMP agent on the network device is responding? Run Getif to check the response of the SNMP agent on the network device.

  • Is the community string (CS) or SNMPv3 username and password correct? Community strings and passwords often are case-sensitive. To check the validity of a community string or password, use the Getif program.

  • Is the SNMP agent on the network device not responding quickly enough? Try increasing the timeout setting using PI ICU.
