Welcome to AF Client Installation and Configuration! This publication is intended for PI System administrators and anyone who installs and configures the AVEVA™ PI System™.

The AF Client consists of several tools that enable you to access data and perform certain administrative tasks in PI Asset Framework (AF), Data Archive, and PI Buffer subsystem. PI Network subsystems (PINS), PI System Explorer, PI Builder, and the AF SDK are included in an AF Client installation.

The AF Client integrates seamlessly with AVEVA’s broader ecosystem for scalable, enterprise-wide performance intelligence. AF Client works in tandem with several AVEVA tools, including PI DataLink, PI Vision, PI Web API, and others.

The AF Client offers the following features:
