PI AF Client 2024 release notes

  • Last UpdatedDec 04, 2025
  • 3 minute read

Overview

PI AF Client 2024 (version 3.1.0.1156) consists of several tools that enable you to access data and perform certain administrative tasks in PI Asset Framework (AF), Data Archive, and PI Buffer subsystem. PI Network subsystems (PINS), PI System Explorer, PI Builder, and the AF SDK are included in a PI AF Client 2024 installation.

New features and enhancements

PI AF Client 2024 contains these new features:

  • The Language Packs feature has replaced the Language Packs MUI: You can now select the Language Packs feature during a PI AF Client installation to set the user interface (UI) for PI System Explorer and PI Builder to a language other than English. Note that PI Builder will use the Office display language on the Excel Options menu if the language is supported.

  • File-based Known Servers Table (KST) Implementation for AF SDK Applications: Applications that utilize the AF SDK (Software Development Kit), such as PI DataLink, will now employ a file-based KST. This new approach is designed to facilitate easier access and management by loading known PI Data Archives from a file-based table. Meanwhile, PI SDK applications will maintain their usage of a separate, dedicated KST.
