Client applications request attribute values for a specific time or time range. For example, a client application might display an optional time range context (a time range symbol, such as a trend, must be present on the display to enable reception of a time range). You typically configure the data reference to expect either a time or a time range. The attribute value then consists of the following information:
-
The value of the point at a specific time. See Configure value retrieval by time.
-
The result of a calculation on the point's values over a time range. See Configure value retrieval by time range. For example, the attribute value could be the average of the point values over an hour.
