System Platform 2023 R2 SP2 includes the following product enhancements:

  • Incorporate hot fixes for all products. See Resolved issues for details.

  • Internal improvements and enhancements.

Decouple .NET runtime:

With the decoupling of .NET runtime components from System Platform, you can now install new versions of the .NET runtime, without having to upgrade System Platform. As a result, .NET runtime assemblies are not part of the System Platform bundle.

At the time of this System Platform release, .NET 10 runtime is the new compatible version.

Note: System Platform 2023 R2 SP2 does not depend on .NET 8. However, uninstalling .NET 8 may affect other applications, such as AVEVA Telemetry Server 2025, Mobile Operator 2025, Work Tasks 2023 R2, or any other software that requires .NET 8. Before uninstalling .NET 8, verify that no other applications on the system depend on it. AVEVA recommends validating the impact in a non-production environment that replicates the production configuration before removing .NET 8 from a production system.

AVEVA OMI enhancements:

  • Bit State Animations

    Bit State animations let you add conditions to an animation based on bit values. You can add multiple conditions and for each condition you can select individual bits in any pattern up to 32 bits.

  • Extended Truth Table Animations

    The Blink, Disable, Value Display, and Visibility animations have now been extended with the ability to configure animations with truth table conditions.

  • OMI web client support for load balancing

    The OMI web client now supports the use of a load balancer to improve system security and performance.

InTouch HMI enhancements:

  • Service account changes

    For improved security, the WindowViewer Virtual Service Account has been removed from the Administrators group and no longer has administrative privileges. The account has been added to the ASBSolution, ArchestrAWebHosting, and aaRuntimeUsers groups.
