Remove a device twin

To remove a device twin:

From the device list, locate and select the device you wish to remove. The device details display in the Device Information panel.

Select the Summary tab.

Scroll to the bottom of the Summary tab and select Delete device.

If the device is connected, you are prompted to confirm that you want to delete the device. Select Delete to delete the device.

If the device is disconnected, the system cannot communicate with the device to complete the deletion process. You are prompted to confirm that you still want to delete the device. Select Force Delete to force the system to delete the device. This removes all references to the device from the system and prevents the device from reconnecting in the future.
Warning: When you delete a device, there is a 30-day grace period during which the device can be recovered. For assistance with recovering a deleted device, you can contact AVEVA technical support. After the 30-day grace period has expired, a deleted device can no longer be recovered. Any remaining license credits on a deleted device are lost.
If an edge device is damaged or otherwise becomes inoperable, you can bootstrap a new edge device to link it with the existing device twin with no loss of license credits.
