Welcome to AVEVA Events to CONNECT

AVEVA Events to CONNECT is an event data-collection agent that collects JSON data from REST API endpoints as a data source and transfers them to Type store, Assets/Asset Type, and Graph REST API endpoints in CONNECT data services.

Agent installation

You can install the agent with a download kit that you can obtain from the AVEVA Customer Portal. You must install the agent on devices running Windows operating systems.

Agent configuration

Using the REST API, Curl commands or Configurator plugin you can configure all functions of the agent. The configurations are stored in JSON files. For data ingress, you must define an agent component in the system components configuration for each device to which the agent will connect. You configure each agent component with the connection information for the device and the data to collect. For data egress, you must specify destinations for the data, including security for the outgoing connection. Additional configurations are available to egress health data, add buffering configuration to protect against data loss, and record logging information for troubleshooting purposes.

Once you have configured the agent and it is sending data, you can use administration functions to manage the agent or individual ingress components of the agent. Health functions monitor the status of AVEVA Events to CONNECT component connection to the data source. For more information on available agent health data, see Health data.
