AVEVA™ Events to CONNECT

Install the agent

Use the following procedure to download the AVEVA™ Events to CONNECT_1_0_1_46.msi file from CONNECT data services and install the Events to CONNECT agent on a Windows computer.

Note: You can also download the AVEVA Events to CONNECT MSI file directly from the AVEVA Customer Portal. Customer login credentials are required to access the portal.

Download and install the agent

Before installing the agent, see the System requirements to ensure your machine is properly configured to provide optimum agent operation.

  1. Log into CONNECT data services.

  2. In the left pane, select Support, and then select Downloads.

    The Downloads page opens and displays the AVEVA Events to CONNECT tile.

  3. If required, select Download required .NET runtime to download and install the version of Microsoft .NET Framework required to run the Events to CONNECT Post-install Configurator plugin. For more information, see System requirements.

  4. Select Download to download the Events to CONNECT MSI file.

    The MSI file saves to your Downloads folder.

  5. To install the agent, run the MSI file, following the steps in the setup wizard.

    Note that you can change the installation folder or port number during the installation. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\OSIsoft\Adapters\EventsToCONNECT. The default port number is 5590.

  6. When the installation successfully completes, select Finish.

  7. (Optional) To verify the installation, run the following curl command in PowerShell or command prompt with administrator privileges. Use the port number that you specified during installation:

    curl.exe --ntlm --negotiate -u <UserName> "http://localhost:5590/api/v1/configuration"

    If you receive an error, wait a few seconds, and try the script again. If the installation was successful, a JSON copy of the default system configuration is returned.
