You can specify the mappings metadata attributes using an XLS, XLSX or a CSV file.

To define the mappings for metadata attributes using an XLS, XLSX or a CSV file:

  1. Create a file with the required data.

  2. Define the table name in the <GatewayName>ServiceConfig.json file under Processor > Tables. The parameters required for defining the table are as follows:

    • Name: Name of the table

    • Path: Location of the file

    • Sheet: (Optional) Sheet name in the file

  3. In the Processor > Rules > Actions area in the the <GatewayName>ServiceConfig.json file, define the mapping using the Map function.

The following image shows an example of how this can be done.

Note: The first row in the file (XLS, XLSX or CSV) must have the column names.

The changes you make to the Excel file are automatically detected without having to restart AVEVA™ Gateway Data Publisher. Make the changes you want and save the Excel file. The AVEVA™ Gateway Data Publisher detects the changes and publishes the data accordingly. If the changes you make are invalid or break the mapping, then the mapping specified in the previous version of the file are considered.
