Battery life assessment

For battery operated HART 7 series devices, the connector reads the battery life in days remaining by issuing a Command 9 request containing device variable 243 on the HART-IP device and sub-devices.

Due to the resource intensive nature of calculating the battery life, the request is only issued once every seven days. If the request for battery life fails due to a communication error or timeout on the sub-device, the connector will not attempt another read until the battery life check interval elapses. The battery life check interval is set in the data source configuration. The default battery life check interval is 7 days. the configurable range for this option is 0-31 days. Setting the value to 0 disables the battery life check.
