HART device connection

Communication with a HART-IP device is required during the following operations:
-
HART device inventory
-
Data collection
-
Configuration change assessment
-
Battery life assessment
All communications use UDP or TCP connections. The connector maintains a constant communication channel with the HART device, which is used for inventory and data collection purposes. The connector also opens and then closes an additional communications channel during checks for configuration changes. Similarly, the connector will open and then close another communications channel for reading battery life.
If the connector loses communication with the HART-IP device, it attempts to reconnect once every 30 seconds until a successful communication channel is established.
The connector has a 10-second read timeout when waiting for responses from the HART device. If no read response is received during that time, the connector closes the connection to the HART-IP device and attempts to reconnect.
