The PI Event Frames Generator (PI EFGen) is an interface that automatically generates event frames in the PI Asset Framework (AF) database based on conditions defined from PI point data. It enables organizations to transform continuous time-series data into meaningful, discrete events, such as downtime, excursions, or batch processes, by using configurable triggers and event frame templates.

PI EFGen supports the creation of complex, hierarchical event structures, allowing users to model real-world processes with parent-child relationships while ensuring consistency through standardized templates.

By populating event attributes directly from PI data and providing flexible configuration options, PI EFGen helps streamline event detection, enhance the contextual understanding of operational data, and support advanced analysis and reporting across assets.
