PI Interface for TCP Response

PI server

The interface measures Data Archive response times for points with Location2 set to 9.

TCPResponse connects to the Data Archive port of the specified machine, for example, a machine specified using DEVICE=piserver.somecompany.com in the InstrumentTag. The Data Archive port is either the default port (5450) or a user-specified port, by PORT= in the InstrumentTag. After establishing the connection, the interface sends a low-level message that simulates a PI API connection. The interface then waits for a response from the Data Archive.

The response time measured by the interface is the amount of time from the time of the simulated PI API connection to the time the Data Archive acknowledges the connection. If the interface encounters errors during the attempt to connect, it writes the value Bad Input. If the interface does not receive a reply within a user-specified timeout duration, it writes I/O Timeout.
