The GetExtension() method gets the extension of the file represented by the supplied path.

If the path represents a URL, any slash (/) or question mark (?) character and all the characters that follow it will be trimmed from the returned string.

Parameters

path
Required. Holds the path and file name of the file, including the file extension.

Return Value

Returns a string that represents the file extension.
