If you do not want to use the function task pane, you can define PI DataLink functions manually.

Select an appropriate range in the worksheet for the output array based on the number of expected values.

Enter the PI DataLink function and its arguments into the Excel formula bar.

Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to place the PI DataLink function into the selected output cells.
