Silent installation

  1. Run the PI DataLink installation executable.

  2. Note the folder path where the installer extracts the installation files.

  3. Continue through the installation wizard until the dialog that displays the list of components to be installed appears.

  4. Cancel the installation instead of proceeding.

  5. Open the extraction folder noted in step 2.

  6. Locate the silent.ini file in the extracted installation files.

  7. Edit the silent.ini file as needed.

  8. Save the modified file and rename it to setup.ini.

Run the silent installation

  1. Check that the renamed setup.ini file is located in the same directory as setup.exe.

  2. Run setup.exe.

  3. The installation will use the settings defined in setup.ini.
