Software requirements for notifications

Prerequisite: Ensure that PI AF Server version 2017 R2 or later is installed.

To use the notifications feature, you must install, in this order:

1. PI AF Client 2017 R2 or later

2. PI Notifications Service 2017 R2 or later

3. Optional. AVEVA PI Vision.

   • This is required if you want to use the acknowledgment link in the notifications feature, which is a link to the event details page in AVEVA PI Vision.

   • To include a Screenshot from AVEVA PI Vision in notifications, NTLM provider for Windows Authentication needs to be enabled in AVEVA PI Vision. For more information, see Delivery formats in notification rules. 4. The Management plug-in from PI AF Client 2017 R2 or later which allows for managing analyses and notification rules in bulk.

5. To enable screenshots for PI Notifications 2018 SP3 Patch 5 or later, install Microsoft Edge WebView2 RunTime on the machine where PI Notifications Service will be installed. See Install Microsoft Edge WebView2 for screenshots.
