Introduction to PI SQL Client ODBC and Oracle Database Gateway Configuration

PI System data can be accessed from Oracle via the Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC), which is part of the Oracle Heterogeneous Connectivity. The Oracle Database Gateway is available with Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, and 21c distributions and can also be installed on a different computer than the Oracle database server.

This document describes how to use PI SQL Client ODBC driver to access a PI System from Oracle 18c through DG4ODBC for Windows. The document assumes that the Oracle database server is configured and the DG4ODBC for Windows components are already installed on a Windows computer.
