Using Item Suffixes

You can configure OPC data sources to use the /VT item suffix to gain better control of data access in OI Gateway. Using the /VT item suffix enables you to tell the underlying OPC server the type of data you want the underlying OPC server to report to OI Gateway.

Note: When using a VT suffix, the suffix must be specified in the Item Reference column in the Device Items tab, not in the item name subscribed from a client.
