Configure MSDTC Service

The Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) allows the coordination of transactions among multiple databases and file systems.

Note: Configure this service on the same server where Work Tasks will be installed.

To configure MSDTC Service:

  1. Run dcomcnfg from the command prompt.

    The Component Services window appears.

  2. Expand Component Services>Computers>My Computer.

  3. Expand the Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) to locate Local DTC.

  4. Right-click Local DTC and then select Properties.

  5. Select the Security tab.

  6. Under Security Settings, select Network DTC Access and then select Allow Remote Clients and Allow Remote Administration.

  7. Under Transaction Manager Communication, select the Allow Inbound and Allow Outbound check box.

  8. Under Transaction Manager Communication, select the No Authentication Required option.

  9. Select the Enable XA Transactions check box and then select Apply.

    A confirmation message appears.

  10. Select Yes.

    The Local DTC Properties window closes, and the settings are saved.
