Assign the Data services Viewer role to a group in CONNECT

Assigning groups the Data services Viewer role allows users to see the Data services tile on the CONNECT home page. To assign roles to a group:

From the CONNECT home page, select User management.

Select Roles.

Select Assign role.

Verify that the Service role option is selected.

From Service, select Data services.

From Folder, select the folder that you created in Create a folder and enable CONNECT data services.

From Role, select Data services Viewer.

From Groups, select the groups that you created in Add groups in CONNECT.

Select Save to save these changes.
The Data services Viewer role is now assigned to the selected groups.
CONNECT data services access permissions
The Data services Viewer role allows users to see the Data services tile on the CONNECT home page, but does not provide permissions within CONNECT data services itself. Permissions within CONNECT data services can either be assigned through either CONNECT or CONNECT data services, either directly to the user or inherited through a group. This can be done in one of the following ways, as shown in the table below:

Note: The Administration and User groups can have additional roles assigned in CONNECT data services, but their baseline role assignments will always apply.
