System requirements for the eDNA to PI Migration Utility

Install the eDNA to PI Migration Utility on the same machine as the target Data Archive that will hold your transferred eDNA data. The eDNA to PI Migration Utility installer stops if a supported version of Data Archive is not detected.

The following table lists the system requirements for the eDNA to PI Migration Utility.

PI Server components	The following versions of PI Server and Data Archive are supported: PI Server 2018 SP3, PI Server 2023, and PI Server 2024 PI Asset Framework (AF) Client 2018 or later (includes the PI Builder application) Note: While PI Builder usage is optional, the utility is designed to work seamlessly with it.
Operating system	Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 (Full) Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster compatible processor or System on a Chip (SoC)
Third-party components	.NET Framework 8.0 Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 Redistributables (x64)

The following versions of PI Server and Data Archive are supported:

PI Server 2018 SP3, PI Server 2023, and PI Server 2024
PI Asset Framework (AF) Client 2018 or later (includes the PI Builder application)

Note: While PI Builder usage is optional, the utility is designed to work seamlessly with it.

Operating system

Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 (Full)
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster compatible processor or System on a Chip (SoC)

Third-party components

.NET Framework 8.0
Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 Redistributables (x64)

Important: The eDNA to PI Migration Utility must be installed on the same machine as the Data Archive. All required PI products must be installed on the same machine.

Additional notes

It is not a requirement that eDNA, the eDNA to PI Migration Utility, and Data Archive be installed on the same machine. However, if these components are installed on separate machines, additional configuration may be required to ensure remote access.
