The eDNA to PI migration workflow consists of the following phases:
-
Planning: Prior to installation, assess your existing infrastructure to evaluate whether additional hardware/storage is needed to accommodate the new influx of eDNA data into Data Archive.
-
Installation: The eDNA to PI Migration Utility is installed using a setup kit that must run on the same node as the Data Archive it is being run against.
-
Pre-migration: All PI tags for the migrated eDNA data must be created on the target Data Archive prior to migration. You can do this manually or use the utility to create a CSV mapping file that can be used in conjunction with PI Builder to generate PI tags on the target Data Archive.
-
Migration: This phase is where you transfer your eDNA data to Data Archive using the utility’s Migrate command and the appropriate configuration parameters. Log files are also generated to provide helpful details about the migration process and results.
-
Post-migration: At this stage, you will manually perform any data merging and analysis to help evaluate the migration and create any required migration reports.
